Mooloolaba Triathlon Festival, March 11–13
It’s that time of year again when the Mooloolaba Triathlon Festival comes to town. The annual event, spanning three days in March (11th, 12th and 13th), is one of the favourites on the Triathlon calendar, running for more than 22 years. The Festival is Mooloolaba and Sunshine Coast’s pinnacle sporting event, attracting iron men and women from all over Queensland, Australia and around the globe.
The Mooloolaba Triathlon Festival is perfect for the whole family, with events such as the 5km Twilight run, Ocean Swim, Superkidz Triathlon and the Special Tri enabling fans to really get into the action, competing in the same water and roads as their idols. The course for the main event, the Mooloolaba ITU Triathlon World Cup, is run from Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headlands, through Maroochydore and up to Coolum.
Just a two-minute walk to the beachfront and event transition point, staying at Beachside Mooloolaba your ticket to be right amongst the intense atmosphere and action. Watch the swimming unfold in the waters off Mooloolaba Beach and transition to the bike leg where the athletes compete in a 20km cycle.
